Vision
Kår (corps) 393 wants to be a church that is cutting edge and a resource within the youth culture in Stockholm.
History
In February of 1996 a group of people started to pray. We had a longing to express our Christian faith in a new way.
In 1998, Kår (corps) 393 officially started.
Fryshuset:
In April of 1996 the Salvation Army was invited to Fryshuset which is one of the biggest youth centers in Europe.
Since then, members of Kår 393 have been participating in different activities at Fryshuset,
especially the summer activities organized for teens in the centre of Stockholm.
Locus:
In June 1996 God gave us a dream to open a home for teenagers in Stockholm.
The goal was to integrate a home and a social institution.
Members of the corps can rent an apartment at Locus and live there as role models.
In the autumn of 1999, Locus opened and since then it has been an important part of our church.
Family Centre:
The county administrative board of STockholm estimates that about 400 000 children in Sweden grow up in families where one or both parents have or have had alcohol or drug problems. This means 4-5 students in each school class are worried about their parents' alcohol and drug use. In Seden these children are often called "the forgotten children". Corp 393 has seen this kind of problems first hand when working with families and children. Therefore 393 wanted to open a center for working especially with the forgotten children. The family center started in September 2008.
We now offer different kinds of suppoert groups and personal counseling to children and teens in the ages 7-20.
Youth:
Childrens' choirs:
Every tuesday at 5 pm our two children's choirs; Cookies&Dreams and Småkakorna meet to practice and have fun togheter. We welcome all children frpm the age of 3 and up! Before the choir practice, from 4.30 and onwards we serve hotdogs in the café.
The teen group:
Every thursday between 5 and 7pm all teens (and almost teens) meet. We have a snack togheter, do something fun togheter like; watch a movie, bake, learn how to play the guitar.....We talk about life, Jesus and how to be a disciple.
Kompisklubben:
Kompisklubben "The friends club", is a group for children where we once a week meet to talk about how to be a good friend and how different kinds of reltionships can work. The goal is to improve the children's self-esteem and their ability to function in a group.
Äventyret:
Äventyret, "the adventure", is our sunday school. We meet during the sunday service and learn more about God and the Bible. We also do other fun things togheter like sports, arts & crafts and games. Every Sunday is a new adventure!

We want to work on a long term and holistic basis and serve people’s spirit, body and soul.
